What is Madness Melee?

Madness Melee is a wave-based survival and fighting game. You are placed in a gray, cracked room. A creepy poster on the wall warns you to BE VIGILANT. Then, the enemies attack. You must fight off these attackers using your fists and weapons.

Have you ever wanted to jump into a gritty, dark world of pure combat? Madness Melee is exactly that. It is a fast-paced 2D brawler. You control a classic grunt fighter with a cross on his face. Your only goal is to survive the madness. As a huge fan of Action Games, I instantly fell in love with the heavy, satisfying combat style here. The game is simple to pick up but very hard to master.

Essential upgrades

When you start the game, you begin at Wave 1. Enemies will walk toward you and start swinging. You must fight back.

Every time you defeat an enemy, you earn XP. Look at the top right of your screen to track your progress. Once you get enough XP (for example, 50 XP), you level up. Leveling up gives you skill points. You can use these skill points to make your character much stronger.

Trust me, you will need those upgrades. The game gets very difficult very fast. I consider myself a pretty good gamer, but my current high score is only Wave 4! The enemies hit hard. You have to keep moving and strike at the right time.

How to use the spawn menu and godmode

Sometimes, you just want to mess around without the stress of dying. Good news! Madness Melee has a fantastic custom mode. This is where the game truly shines for creative players.

You can open a special menu to control the game world. Here are the main controls for this mode:

• Q and E: Cycle through different characters, like the ATP units.
• T: Switch your spawn category.
• R: Spawn the selected item or character into the map.
• G: Swap control to the enemy under your mouse cursor.
• H: Toggle Godmode.

This feature turns the game into a mini-sandbox. It reminds me a lot of classic Sandbox Games. You get the freedom to create your own massive battles. You can set up teams and watch them fight each other. If you enjoy the physics and chaos of Melon Sandbox, you will have an absolute blast testing out different enemy combinations here. Just turn on Godmode and watch the destruction!
